Hi Nelson.

It's Nicole here, your pictorialist friend. I'm emailing you to show my appreciation for all that you have done over those past 4 days we spent, working on discovering the person i am.

Doing that course has made me a more confident and strong person. I now realise when I'm playing games with those I love. I now know how to walk away from it without getting myself all worked up. I have personally been wanting to deal with that issue for a very long time.

I moved to Rotorua from Auckland in 2005 as a result of an abusive relationship. I have been living with the pain and regret of that relationship for 4 years now and being at this course has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I can now be a better person to my partner. I had so much regrets about the past but being at your course has made me realise that there’s no time for regrets. If I didn't do the things in the past then I wouldn't be where I am today. I have a beautiful 20month son (Teagan) and a loving partner (Terry). I also chose to turn my life around and attend the young mothers school. I couldn't be in a happier place in life at the moment. When i fell pregnant with Teagan i knew then that I had to turn my life around. I had no qualifications or anything. I felt pretty sad that I probably wouldn't be able to provide for him when he was born. So I decided to enroll at this school. I attended this school for two years, and in those two years I gained NCEA level 1 and 2, National Certificate in Tourism level 2 and 3, also my license controller qualification.

I had a bit of an episode the other day at the groceries store and it made me think of some of the things we had learnt on the course. The example you gave us on minding your own business, where you gave us a scene of a little child climbing up a fence and someone yelling out to watch that kid as it might fall off. We don't know weather that mother has been teaching that child to do that or not but we should mind our own business anyway. I was at the groceries store, every time I get out of the car and get Teagan out I make sure he stands right beside the car while i lock it. He does as he’s told and that’s because I have taught him that if he goes out on the road a car will run him over. I had this old man pull over, tooting his horn and winding down his window and said to me, "You should be watching that kid he will run out on the road" I was shocked and thought of what we learnt in the course. I told him to Shut up and mind his own business. So he drove off. It really did make me think that you really do have to mind your own business because I have been teaching Teagan to do what he was doing and that man was sticking his nose where it didn't belong, therefore he didn't need to say anything to me at all. Its people like that who make me wish that they all did this amazing course that you provide.

Once again Nelson, I would like to thank you for everything you have done for me and the people around me. I now know the person I truly am and I appreciate it. I hope you enjoyed your time here in Rotorua and I hope you offer some more courses again in the near future. I would love to attend it again.

Thank You Nelson
